A hand full of people are selected to appear in court to get selected to potentially serve as jurors through letters and phone calls and when and where to appear in court in their state. Some are called back to court and told that they will serve as a juror for jury duty and others are called back to court and told that they will not serve as a juror for jury duty. Just imagine that you are juror, and everyone voted pretty much the same way, but your vote will either determine if the accused suspect is either innocent or guilty in court. Your vote may decide if it was “unanimous” or a “hung trial.” If it is a hung trial, then they have to retry the case or cases until it’s unanimous. After unsuccessfully voting unanimous the case eventually gets thrown out.
Meanwhile, a woman by the name of Laurie Burkman 50, for the first time was summoned to appear in Akron Municipal Court in Akron, OH on June 17, 2019, to see if Ms. Burkman is selected as one of the jurors. Thrilled to be selected as perhaps being one of the potential jurors, Ms. Burkman filled out her paperwork. Laurie Burkman’s husband Nathan Burkman 50 is petrified at appearing in court because of the court cases that the jurors deliberate on when it comes to homicide cases on Dateline, 48 Hours, and 20/20. When Mr. Burkman gets summoned to appear in court, Mr. Burkman usually gets doctor’s excuses because the causes that appear on TV seem less intimidating when jurors deliberate than when you’re selected to be a juror and have to appear in court in your district.
